Annual Meeting and Guest Speaker Lola Haskins

Be sure to join us for the Friends of the Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Farm, Inc. Annual Meeting featuring award winning author and poet Lola Haskins. Lola's presentation, Marjorie and Me: Some Poems and a Tribute, will include poems of places that Marjorie loved as well as an essay written to honor her. You are sure to enjoy this special presentation. The presentation will be followed by our annual board meeting, during which we will go over last year's accomplishments and what we have in store for 2026. Lola's accomplishments in literature: Besides 3 prose collections, including Fifteen Florida Cemeteries: Strange Tales Unearthed (University Press of FL), Lola Haskins has published 16 collections of poetry, most recently  Like Zeros, Like Pearls (Charlotte Lit Press,2025)- about insects.  Prior to that Homelight  (also Charlotte Lit), was named Poetry Book of the Year by Southern Literary Review and Asylum (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2019), was featured in the NY Times. Past honors include the Iowa Poetry Prize, two Florida Book Awards, a Florida's Eden prize for environmental writing, and the Emily Dickinson prize from Poetry Society of America.
