Lola's presentation, Marjorie and Me: Some Poems and a Tribute, will include poems of places that Marjorie loved as well as an essay written to honor her. You are sure to enjoy this special presentation. The presentation will be followed by our annual board meeting, during which we will go over last year's accomplishments, introduce our 2026 Board of Directors, and go over what we have in store for 2026. Here are some of Lola's accomplishments in literature:
Three prose collections, including "Fifteen Florida Cemeteries: Strange Tales Unearthed" (University Press of FL).
Lola has published 16 collections of poetry, most recently "Like Zeros, Like Pearls" (Charlotte Lit Press, 2025)- about insects.
"Homelight" (also Charlotte Lit Press), was named Poetry Book of the Year by Southern Literary Review and Asylum (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2019) and was featured in the NY Times.
Past honors include the Iowa Poetry Prize, two Florida Book Awards, a Florida's Eden prize for environmental writing, and the Emily Dickinson prize from Poetry Society of America.
